Good Morning Vietnam!! I went to Vietnam last week for the
installation of a tester customer bought.
The factory locates in Binh Duong province, about 1 hour drive from
Hochihminh city (old Saigon). In the
evening we went out for a cup of coffee in the park of a newly constructed civic
center. A cup of coffee costs only NT$15
(Vietnamese coffee with concentrated milk). The park is beautiful with a huge
pond of spring and light show. In the
recent years, I can see the construction keeps on going in Vietnam each time I
visit.
In Vietnam, even in the rural area,
you can see small coffee stands everywhere.
A cup of coffee costs only NT$6. You can always see people sit by a small table
and gossip all day long. The Vietnamese
are optimistic to life. Even they have
low income, but they won’t give up enjoying their life. My client complains that they are difficult
in recruiting new workers. And most
workers are not interested in working overtime for extra pay.

Meeting Minutes (05/02):
This
meeting proved that all Grand members have two major characteristics in common,
which are creativity and flexibility. Madame President created a magazine reading
session to replace the original joke session. During this session, Gina Cheng guided
us in reading three wonderful and touching articles issued on the TI magazine. I
really think that it was a good starting point for members to share what we
have learned from these articles.
We,
Grand members, are also very flexible. As one of the prepared speech speakers gave
a very short notice that she was not able to attend the meeting, the smartest
and most handsome TOE Billy Chen therefore decided to extend the table topic
session from 15 minutes to 35 minutes. Fire fighters, Jenny and Helen, prepared
11 tough and practical questions at the last minute. This was the first
opportunity that each Grand attendee was given the chance of facing the
challenge.
Gina
Cheng showed her sincere appreciation in her speech named “Member of the year”
to Billy Chen for his remarkable contribution to Grand over two decades. I also
would like to take this opportunity to express my utmost gratitude to Billy.
Thanks for everything he has done for Grand. Because of Billy, Grand has grown
substantially. Thank you very much indeed, Billy.
